This
is a park that is almost completely in the sea. It
was formed in 1990 and has 5,375 hectares of sea bed
and 110 hectares of land. It's on the Pacific litoral
between Uvita Point and Piñuela Point in Osa, Province
of Puntareanas.
This park includes various habitants both sandy and
rocky beach areas, little islands, rocky cliffs, coral
reefs and the Punta Uvita blow hole.
The coral reefs are quite porous, with some 50% of
their volumn being water filled spaces, channels and
cavities, making them ideal to shelter the fish common
to reefs.
