travel frequently to other countries. By having this service,
the customer may access Internet using any of the other

accounts with several ISPs. Neither is it necessary to make
long distance phone calls. The customer uses his/her current
Informática login and password.
How does this service work?
The use of intelligent roaming
and specialized software in the participating providers’
access systems makes this service possible. IPass provides
a service between the ISPs that allows its customers to

I cannot connect to the
number I have chosen
If you encounter problems when
connecting to a specific number, try an alternate number
for the region of the world where you are at that moment.
If none of the numbers works, this may indicate a compatibility
problem with your modem or computer in the part of the world
where you are. Contact our Technical Suppport Staff or your
modem manufacturer for additional information. If you cannot
establish contact using one of the alternate numbers available
for the region where you are, it may simply be that either
the access provider or your telephone are temporarily out
of service.
It seems no connection has
been established
Make sure you have dialed the
required prefixes for the place where you are (many hotels
require to dial a number to get the dialing tone for an
external number).
I get message indicating
that I am using an incorrect password
This software generic message
may indicate that:
- Certainly, you are using an
incorrect password (you have to use the same password you
are currently using with your Informática account
in Costa Rica).
- You have entered an incorrect
user name.
- You have used an incorrect
domain number.
- Consult with us to verify
that your account is active and that you are using the right
user name and password.
I get a busy signal when
I dial the access number
Occasionally, the access points
may be saturated. It is advisable to configure alternative
points in your scripts to use them during rush hours. If
this is not possible in your particular case, wait a few
minutes and try again to connect the number that was busy
earlier.
Access to WWW is slow
If your access to WWW is slow,
it may be due to a noisy telephone line; this usually causes
a decrease in transmission speed and is very common in hotels.
This makes your modem work at a lower speed than normal
because it is correcting mistakes in the data. Most iPass
access point members guarantee connections of 28,800 bps.
The connection is interrupted
or stops working while I am using it
Usually the only sign that
the connection has been lost is that it stops the reception
of packages in the net. But sometimes your software may
stop responding to your keyboard or mouse commands and you
will not have another choice but to restart the system.
A common cause for a communication to be interrupted is
that the phone is picked up (that is, someome picked up
the phone in an extension line) or that the connection is
so noisy that it forced your modem to hang up.
